Sandra Steingraber is an acclaimed ecologist and author of the new book, Raising Elijah, which takes a personal yet scientific look at the abundant human exposure to toxic chemicals. She believes that we can both reform toxics regulation and stop climate change by getting off of dirty fossil fuels.

Sandra spoke with Kari Birdseye, national press secretary at Earthjustice in November of 2012.

Fracking: Coming to a City or Suburb Near You

The controversial practice of fracking is just something that happens in the woods of Pennsylvania or the empty stretches of the Mountain West, right? Think again. Fracking, once a purely rural phenomenon, may be coming to a city or suburb near you.
Fort Worth, Texas, is the epicenter of urban fracking.The city has at least 1,400 natural gas wells, some as close as 200 or 300 feet from people’s houses.
